"An annular eclipse lets you see geocentricity," by Prof. James N. Hanson. Assuming this the view at the North pole, the stars move across the horizon at 15 degrees per hour, the sun at 15 1/24, the moon at 15 13/24. The moon overtakes the sun. The figure demonstrated the sidereal (rotation rate of the stars), solar and lunar motions. (Times range from 9:00 A.M. to 1:40 P.M.)
